August 23,2023
Cowboy boots are boots that defy all limitations. Boots that can be worn in the heat. The scorching summer sun is no deterrent for these bad boys. While it seems antithetical to the very nature of a boot, they act like a koozie.
SHE’S GOT GOOD JEANS: JEANS AND BOOTS (WOMEN'S EDITION)
August 23,2023
Matching boots with jeans is a classic combination that never goes out of style. It's like a beautiful symphony of fabric and leather, seamlessly coming together to create a stylish look. Everyone looks great in a pair of boots, and it's evident in the movie "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants."
ALVIES BOOT PARTY LAUNCHES IN AUSTIN
October 18,2022
The issue with buying cowboy boots at a retail store starts with feeling like you have to be a cowboy to pull off the style. You shop around seeing a ton of cowboy boot options and price tags that range from $200 to $2,000+. Most customers don't have a grasp on all of the differences that goes into each style of boot. The retail employee walks over and assumes you know everything, or assumes you know nothing about cowboy boots . Either way, it's never a great experience.

INTRODUCING THE ROLLING HAPPY HOUR
July 07,2021
As an Austin company, live music and events are part of our DNA. We started selling boots and flops from our Airstream at 3rd & Congress, right in the heart of the entertainment district. The one potential bright spot to the whole global pandemic, everyone-trapped-in-their-houses-for-over-a-year thing is this: it’s a lazy person’s paradise. Businesses have shifted how they operate to work in this new era, and everything from childcare pickup to doctor visits has been made easier. It’s a golden age for convenience and the acceptance of gym shorts and flip-flops as business casual wear.
OUR NEW WATERLOO RECORDS PARTNERSHIP: BOOTS, FLOPS & RECORDS
December 08,2020
Music is inseparable from Austin. It’s part of the city. Like swimming in Barton Springs in the summer, posting up on patios in the winter, or hitting up 3 different Tex Mex spots in one evening to sample all the finest Mexican Martinis. We always knew we wanted to make music a part of Alvies, too. That’s why I’m excited to announce our new partnership with Waterloo Records.
AUSTIN HOLIDAY TRADITIONS GUIDE: MAKING IT WORK FOR COVID EDITION
December 03,2020
With a high percentage of patio-friendly days even in December, Austin may not look like a classic winter wonderland during the holidays. But we have a ton of festive-AF traditions to make the season bright. Some of them are cancelled this year, but many are still on in a slightly different form. So you can get all the ho-ho-ho during co-co-Covid.
AUSTIN DINING GUIDE: ATX RESTAURANT INSTITUTIONS

When I first moved to Austin in 1998, there were some solid Tex Mex options, but not much else. Now that we’re all cosmopolitan and full of Californians, the restaurant and bar scene has gotten legit. There are so many great options, from amazing barbecue, to world-class sushi, to Japanese-Texas fusion that you can't find anywhere else.
