All About The Duval
Making your way to Bar Hemingway — Hôtel Ritz, 1st Arrondissement, Paris — it’s hard not to feel out of place. You walk into a lobby dripping with gold and lush fabrics. You’re greeted by staff that manages to be welcoming while at the same time doling out a healthy dose of side eye. You walk past the sweeping grand staircase. A long hallway stretches out seemingly into infinity, flanked on either side by glass-encased clothing and jewelry display cases from the world’s most prestigious fashion houses. Need to avail yourself of the facilities? You’ll wash your hands in water that pours out of a golden goose faucet at the turn of a crystal handle.
We designed the Duval boot for exactly this kind of situation. It has the elegant sophistication of a fashion ankle boot, the soul (and sole) and heel of a cowboy boot, and the comfort of a clog. They’re your armor and your camouflage, letting you feel at home anywhere from the Ritz to the roadhouse. So you can make the meandering journey to one of Hemingway’s favorite carousing spots with the confidence of Papa himself. But at the end of the journey, you’ll still have to pay 40 Euro for a cocktail. Worth it.
