Luckily, it also has plenty of places to cool off: lakes, rivers, swimming holes (for swimming), watering holes (for boozing), shady trails, and more. The footwear of choice for the blistering months (and most other months) is the flip-flop. As all locals know, having the wind on your toes makes it feel 10 degrees cooler. You can wear flip-flops pretty much anywhere and not feel out of place. The nicest restaurant in town. College graduation. A board meeting.
