All About The Stassney

We’re a Texas company, and fully buy into the state credo of bigger being better. But we also have to admit there are certain examples of smaller being sweeter. Simone Biles. Mother Teresa. Spud Webb. Hell, Sam Houston himself was only 5’1”. Don’t look that up.

The “smaller is baller” spirit is embodied in the Stassney, our shortest-but-densest-with-style Western boot. It features the same styling as our traditional cowboy/cowgirl boots: the Western profile, cowboy heel, J toe and pull straps. But all packed into a rear-zip ankle boot. That makes it perfect to dress up with a skirt for the company party, dress down with jeans for the game, or dress sideways with cutoffs for the music festival. No matter what, you’ll make a big impression. Go small or go home.

Our boots break in quickly thanks to a wider toe. After just a few days, they’ll feel like an old friend.

  • Made with sole: A comfort insole with cork footbed plus leather midsole and outsole make Alvies boots easy on your feet
  • Zip it: Rear zipper for easy on/off (also looks cool)
  • 100% leather: Nubuck leather upper (similar to suede but stronger and more durable, kind of like Super Suede), plus bovine lining for comfort
  • Well heeled: Stacked leather heel, hard EVA middle lining, non-slip rubber bottom
  • Well toed: Classic J toe with a snipped bottom sole

Handmade in León, Mexico

Alvies boots and leather flip-flops are made by one of the oldest and most respected bootmakers in León, the bootmaking capital of the world. History fact: León has been a shoemaking hub since 1645. Many of the bootmaking OGs in our ethical factory have been crafting boots by hand for decades. They use traditional methods and are paid a fair wage for their skills.

We give back to worthy causes with each product sold through our Alvies Kicks Back program. We're currently sending a portion of Stassney sales to Health Alliance for Austin Musicians and the Southern Smoke Foundation's Austin Relief Fund.
