Handmade in León, Mexico

Alvies boots and leather flip-flops are made by one of the oldest and most respected bootmakers in León, the bootmaking capital of the world. History fact: León has been a shoemaking hub since 1645. Many of the bootmaking OGs in our ethical factory have been crafting boots by hand for decades. They use traditional methods and are paid a fair wage for their skills.

Alvies Kicks Back: Juan Meza

Juan is the owner of the beloved East Austin restaurant Juan in a Million, where he’s been dishing out strong Tex Mex and even stronger handshakes since 1980. Back in our rowdy youth, you could often find the Alvies crew there on a Sunday curing hangovers with breakfast tacos.

Juan is a pillar of the Austin community and one of the nicest dudes around. He has chosen Con Mi MADRE to receive a portion of all sales from The Congress as part of Alvies Kicks Back. They empower the mothers of young Latinas through education and support services that increase preparedness, participation, and success in their educational journey.
