All About The Lamar

The first boot that Alvie designed was based on the ones he most often saw his grandfather wearing: premium cowhide boots with a classic toe and a cowboy heel. Aka The Real Deal. He later inherited those boots. And even though they’re over 40 years old, they look great and feel even better. The high-quality leather is beautifully aged, with some nicks and scratches to tell the story of a life well lived. Since inheriting them, Alvie has added a few more marks from his travels, adventures, and (since we’re all friends here) one or two misadventures.

The Lamar is handcrafted using the highest quality cowhide leather, and built with Alvies’ Fast Break-In Fit. So you can start wearing them everywhere right away, add your own marks over the years, then hand them down to someone you love.

Handmade in León, Mexico

Alvies boots and leather flip-flops are made by one of the oldest and most respected bootmakers in León, the bootmaking capital of the world. History fact: León has been a shoemaking hub since 1645. Many of the bootmaking OGs in our ethical factory have been crafting boots by hand for decades. They use traditional methods and are paid a fair wage for their skills.

Alvies Kicks Back: Alvie, Jr.

Alvie Franklin Faulkenbery II is the inspiration behind our company and our brand. He was a great man and a decorated veteran who served in the US Army Air Forces during World War II. The Lamar is based off the classically styled cowboy boot collection he handed down to our founder, Alvie IV, when he passed away.

To honor his character and his service, we donate a portion of every pair of Lamars sold to the Iron Freedom Foundation as part of our Alvies Kicks Back program. The IFF organizes outdoor experiences for veterans that offer them constructive challenges and a lasting support community.
